The Trickster's Guide to TEST-TAKING

A written examination is a complex situation when you are facing questions you have not covered in your private review, if ever you have even done one. More complex still, if you have ambitioned making it to the top but still missed on certain details on the subject at question that unfortunately came out in the set of questions before you. The issue is about passing the written examination. If you have been down in your previous periodical results, passing the question before might mean not having to reenrol on the same subject in the next year or the next semester. If you are taking a licensure examination, you might as well doubt your chances of becoming a professional.

The fact is, no matter how ardently you have studied for a written examination, there always those subject details that will not stick into your head. Another fact is, based on experiences among students and professional test-takers, many test writers unfortunately like to choose questions you least expected to come by in the evaluation test.

So there is a very strong need to learn how to get the highest chance of choosing the correct answers among four to five answer options. For studious test-takers, at least it will elevate their test results. For the borderline students, at least it will help them pass the subject for good.

The Trickster's Guide Series was published by MorningSun Publishing to help test-takers--students, would-be professionals, and even promotion-aimers--improve their marks in qualifying written examinations both in school, in the workplace, or even in licensing government agencies.

After reading this book, you will learn practical techniques in sifting through unfamiliar answer options in different test types such as multiple choice, matching, essay, etc.

Movies have acquired negative reputes because of the excesses in Hollywood that have offended cultural sensibilities in countries where their films have found the opportunity to be played in cinemas or in the home through optical discs. But to stop watching movies because of this reputation is to throw the baby with the water. Like novels, movies talk about human life, although at exagerrated terms a lot of times. And being so, they communicate at least indirectly real lives, or many faces thereof, and bring home to us some ideas and philosophy that can be useful in our own lives, within the limited world we move.

This book attempts to celebrate the good things in motion pictures that moviegoers around the world recognize as they watch new movies, and replay favorite ones, through the years.

Great Thoughts from the Movies, Special Edition is a diverse collection of thoughts and sayings obtained directly from dialogues in many of the most memorable movies in different generations of filmmaking. From A to Z, it contains thoughts specially chosen to provide insights that may prove useful in whatever state of life you are in, in whatever work you are doing. This volume is a product of many years of painstaking research into many movies in order to obtain the best collection of practical wisdom the film industry can offer.

This edition contains a brief biography of teh most renowned celebrity in the silver screen worldwide, with respective photos, in order to give you a glimpse intot he great pool of acting talents around the world. Each page provides you wise consel, something you may be able to use for the rest of your life.

Best Years

The sight of old couples still holding hands while walking together fascinates me without bounds. Their age is a living testimony of a love that survived the test of time and is as beautiful as ever and wiser than ever before. The sight of those crinkled and calloused skin tells of the many trials and hurdles they have overcame together, of the many joyful moments that kept them going despite everything they faced in life.

Many times love becomes more beautiful when you look at it from the perspective of age. The years you shared with your spouse--the good things and bad; the richer times and the poorer--and till death do both you part as your hands hold each others', now wrinkling with age, its youth spent in union with each other. Such is the beauty of married life that needs celebrating.

Best Years: Over 100 Great Thoughts that Celebrate Marriage [(c) 2010] is written just to do that--help celebrate with you the beauty of conjugal love as you and your spouse walk together as years go by. It contains select sayings from insightful writers in history that can help you appreciate more your marriage and your spouse for that very part of life that he or she spent with you.

Finest Love

Studying at Saint Vincent's College in Dipolog City, and learning to be fascinated with members of the opposite gender, I started asking what is this love that the movies and novels were talking about. I may have live with it through my parents and my close friends but understanding the experience from concepts put into words became very illusive to me. And there's no one to ask about it. Like discovering a new frontier, I had to start from scratch and dig into anything I can read love from. That also allowed me to understand the special affection I had with certain females of my age.

I read lyrics of songs to understand love from the songwriter's point of view. I bought books talking about love to obtain insights from many authors who found it in their own lives. I've seen movies, read magazines, hunting for the answer to one important question--what is love really? And I've known myths that others hold about it, bleeding-heart waiting from love abandoned in songs, ideas that tend to bind would-be lovers into unhealthy attachment to a love no longer was.... But the best part in that search was to find those ideas about love that liberates the soul from a failed love, and enabled it to move on. Love becomes a choice between two people, without which in any one, the reason for keeping on becomes a wasted time.

Finest Love: Over 100 Great Thoughts on Love [(c) 2009] is a choice collection of sayings about love and loving relationships that are positive as well as liberating. Some quotes directly dispels myths that had been circulating around mass media, such as songs and movies, and have caused miseries among the people who came to accept them as correct.

Nefarious Movements

Good people when they look back on their personal sins will find that, in most of those times they fell, they caught flat-footed by temptation. Either they were too carefree, too overconfident, or even too naive, they simply realized later on that they already have committed a sin. That would be understandable the first time; but in the succeeding times, that would be plain stupidity, or perhaps we were just not taught how to detect temptations when it comes knocking at our innocent doors.

We often believe, and erroneously so, that when temptations of passions and lying seduce us, those were the first moments when the nefarious agents of hell came to visit us. But no it was not. Earlier than that time--indeed much, much before that--temptation had already entered into our minds, without us knowing, convincing us to accept enticing but not harmless errors in our values that later on enabled us to experience difficulty in resisting stronger and more obvious seductions. So that even obvious temptations become very hard to resist, if ever we came to think that the seduction is something to resist. Somehow Satan had placed his right foot into the door of our mind, and his entry made it difficult for our will to resist.

Nefarious Movements: Detecting the Whispers of Temptation [(c) 2009] can help you sharpen your conscience with the help of God's grace in detecting signs of temptations coming your way, even the very subtle ones. It also provides two tests that will clearly uncover the deceptive color of these movements before we even consider them as temptations.

The Growing Darkness

An incident that happened for three consecutive months in the final quarter of 2008 while I started works on M Newsmagazine, the first newsmagazine in Minglanilla and my vehicle at spreading positive news and value-rich articles to the community, brought my eyes to the power of preternatural beings. It even threatened the well-being of my son who at this time schooled in Compostela, Cebu with his maternal grandmother.

These incidents opened my eyes to dark spiritual realities beyond what I can see with my own eyes, and whose power and influence work actively in the daily affairs of mankind. My investigation brought me to a warning issued by Pope Leo XIII in 1946 in a pastoral letter he sent to bishops around the world, including the now-familiar Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel. Reading through the signs of times, through events and developments happening around the world, since then, a foreboding pattern has emerged, which provides a fitting warning to all Christians, and to all mankind.

The Growing Darkness: Demonic Threats We Failed to See [(c) 2009] recounts these events, and provides some important actions that must be done in order to be aware of these developments more clearly, and prepare oneself to face your own spiritual battle.
